Shiny hunting in Pokemon is a pastime of mine, so I wanted a place to showcase my collection across the various games!
This isn't the extent of my shiny collection - I'm a huge Legends Arceus player, so needless to say, I've collected a lot shinies from that particular Pokedex. However, each Pokemon I chose to showcase here has a story behind them, so I hope you enjoy reading them and finding out why they mean so much to me!
VARIOUS
Shinies I've either found randomly or targeted without a particular method!
Some have improved odds, like the Dynamax Lair, while others were at full odds in pre-gen 6 games (1/8192).

NAME: GEMINI
POKEMON: Espeon
ORIGIN GAME: SoulSilver
DATE: November 16th 2024
INFO: MY BABY GIRL. GEMINI was my first ever successful shiny hunt in Pokemon SoulSilver! I'd been on-and-off hunting Eevee in the Game Corner for a few years, but it was never anything I took very seriously. On the day I found GEMINI, I was on the train heading to a video game convention with some friends, and I only picked up my DS to pass the time during the commute! It only took me about 20 minutes of resetting to find her on that fateful day!

"Rash nature. Capable of taking hits. Likes dry food."

NAME: ABBA
POKEMON: Unown (A)
ORIGIN GAME: SoulSilver
DATE: September 5th 2010
INFO: My first ever shiny Pokemon! Believe it or not, I never noticed they were shiny until a few years later, and I was so confused. I kept racking my brain to try and remember if there was some kind of shiny Unown event in HGSS, but there definitely wasn't - I just found ABBA while completing the Unown report! They helped me figure out my SID in Soulsilver as well!

"Lax nature. Likes to thrash about. Likes sour food."

NAME: Esquimi
POKEMON: Gastrodon (West Sea)
ORIGIN GAME: Legends: Arceus
DATE: August 11th 2022
INFO:

"Bold nature. Likes to run. Likes sour food."

NAME: KOURI
POKEMON: Sneasel
ORIGIN GAME: Emerald
DATE: September 8th 2025
INFO: This is the greatest Sneasel of All Time. My little homunculus. Gen 3 has my FAVOURITE Sneasel sprite ever, and I still needed a False Swiper for my Pokedex work, so the idea to hunt Sneasel was born! I always loved how shiny Sneasel has a unique colour palette in gen 3, where it retains its red eyes and has white gemstones. Whenever I draw KOURI, I always use the gen 3 palette - it makes him stand out!

"Bashful nature. Capable of taking hits. Happily eats anything."

NAME: KEIICHI
POKEMON: Sneasel (Hisuian)
ORIGIN GAME: Legends: Arceus
DATE: December 10th 2025
INFO: The bitch in question. I have literally been hunting Hisuian Sneasel since the DAY I got Legends: Arceus! It was the first Pokedex entry I perfected, and I've battled dozens of mass outbreaks in search of him. With the Shiny charm and a perfect entry, massive mass outbreaks of Sneasel are a 1/216 chance for a shiny, and regular outbreaks are 1/128. Despite that, it still took three and a half years for my boy to come home. I love him.

"Naughty nature. Likes spicy food."

NAME: ECLAIR
POKEMON: Flareon
ORIGIN GAME: LeafGreen
DATE: March 26th 2023
INFO: The fifth member of my LeafGreen team! ECLAIR is my first and only successful RNG manipulated shiny in LeafGreen, but I hardly consider him a RNG'd shiny - the hunt for him was much closer to soft resetting, as it took about a month of attempts for him to finally shine. At the time of hunting, RNG manipulation in the third gen Kanto games was notoriously annoying and difficult, but there have been some MAJOR breakthroughs in the last year that I'm eager to learn about! If you're interested, check out the guide created by Blisy that I followed to obtain him. It's out of date at this point, but we really used to live like this.

"Impish nature. Very finicky. Likes sour food."

NAME: Enamorus
POKEMON: Enamorus
ORIGIN GAME: Legends: Arceus
DATE: February 23rd 2025
INFO: Not a shiny hunt, but I obtained my shiny Enamorus by completing the Hisuian Pokedex in Pokemon Home. I just like to brag about it because I might be the only Enamorus enjoyer on Earth.

"Naive nature. Likes to thrash about. Likes sweet food."

NAME: BARAQIEL
POKEMON: Electivire (Alpha)
ORIGIN GAME: Legends: Arceus
DATE: August 22nd 2022
INFO:

NAME: Snoozin
POKEMON: Snorlax (Alpha)

METHOD HUNTS
Shinies that were obtained through increasing the odds using special in-game methods!
My favourite shiny hunting method is the Poke Radar in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. By using the device, you can build a chain by encountering the same Pokemon over and over again, and either catching or defeating it. If you're able to build your chain up to 40, the odds of finding a shiny Pokemon rise to an insane 1/200!
It's a notoriously finicky method, as your chain can break at any time even if you do everything right. It's destroyed me over and over again, but I think that's part of why I keep coming back to it. If you're interesting in learning how to hunt with the Poke Radar, check out this Smogon page!

NAME: TACO
POKEMON: Staraptor
ORIGIN GAME: Diamond
DATE: August 17th 2015
INFO: The boy that started it all. TACO was my first successful Poke Radar hunt, but it definitely wasn't the first one I attempted! It took around 10-15 broken chains in various places all over Sinnoh before I settled for the large grass patch on Route 203. If you're looking for a good place to start as a beginner, I really recommend starting there too! It was the summer break shortly before my first year of high school, so my sleeping schedule was completely ruined - I caught TACO shortly after the sun came up on that fateful day. I'll treasure him forever.

"Gentle nature. Mischievous. Likes bitter food."

NAME: BEEBLE
POKEMON: Victreebel
ORIGIN GAME: Diamond
DATE: January 7th 2016
INFO: The hunt for BEEBLE was one I started impulsively during my lunch hour in freshman year, and it was one I regretted for a while afterwards. "Seriously? I finally get a chain of 40, and it's for Weepinbell? Even Gloom would have been better! Then I could have at least gotten a Bellossom..." In case I need to say it, I don't think this way anymore! I've grown so attached to BEEBLE over the years, and he's now my Sweet Scent/Sleep Powder Pokemon for my Diamond save file. I also pulled all three shiny members of the Bellsprout line in TCG Pocket and lost my mind over it! BEEBLE in real life...

"Relaxed nature. Good perseverance. Likes sour food."
"NO BEEBLE!!! HOLDING IT IN DOESN'T DO ANYTHING!!!!!"

NAME: SQUEEBO
POKEMON: Gastrodon (East Sea)
ORIGIN GAME: Diamond
DATE: February 9th 2016
INFO: Also in my freshman year, I had a (very generously paid for...) trip to Hawaii with some family friends. Snorkeling in the coral reefs and wading in the tide pools really got me thinking about Gastrodon, a Pokemon I hadn't really thought much of before. On a day I wasn't feeling very well, I stayed behind in the cabana and chained some Gastrodon, not expecting much to come from it. Obviously since I'm writing this, something DID come from it! My East Sea Gastrodon SQUEEBO, who sat in my boxes for a number of years after being caught. It wasn't until I used a Gastrodon on my team in Pokemon Shield that I really began to appreciate it, and out of nowhere, it completely surpassed all other Pokemon and became my number one favourite. Finally, in mid-2022, SQUEEBO joined me as a permanent member of my Legends: Arceus team, alongside her sister Esquimi. She also still remains in my copy of SoulSilver, where she's a permanent staple of the team as well.

"Hardy nature. Mischievous. Happily eats anything."

NAME: BLUEBERRY
POKEMON: Girafarig
ORIGIN GAME: Diamond
DATE: August 18th 2021
INFO: For a long time, I was in a Poke Radar slump. Not for lack of trying, but definitely mostly because I'd had a 38 chain of Hoppip that broke on me, despite the 98% chance of continuing the streak. I hate to say it, but it killed my passion for it for a while. Any time I picked it up again, I'd get lazy and usually have my chain break at under 15 encounters. BLUEBERRY's chain was my first to surpass 30 in years, so I finally locked in again and brought him home! One day when I pick up Scarlet for real, he'll become the Farigiraf I've always known him to be.

NAME: VELOCITY
POKEMON: Magnezone
ORIGIN GAME: SoulSilver
DATE: September 12th 2025
INFO: The third member of my successful 100-win Battle Tower streak team, alongside my (non-shiny) Muscle Band Garchomp CYNTHIA and Choice Specs Latias SOUL! VELOCITY was essentially the glue that held my team together. CYNTHIA and SOUL were my hard-hitting original team members, focusing on physical and special attacks respectively. However, I knew I needed something to balance out their lack of defense and dual Ice-type weakness. While picking out my third team member, I made a list of requirements - an Ice-type resistance, a decent base Defense, a Ground-type weakness (to bait Ground moves for free Latias switches), and four unique move types that weren't being used by CYNTHIA or SOUL, ideally with something to counter Ice types. Ultimately, Magnezone won thanks to its access to Electric and Steel-type moves, with the latter being the answer to my Ice-type issue! Their final moveset consisted of Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Signal Beam and Hidden Power Fire, a typing I specifically bred them for! With their IVs of 31/26/31/30/31/30, an EV spread of 252 SpA/4 SpD/254 Spe and Leftovers as their held item, VELOCITY clutched out a number of battles that I would have otherwise lost and helped lead my team to victory.
